The first AC casino constructed away from the Boardwalk was Harrah's Atlantic City. A testament to Harrah's management is the fact that the property has survived for all these years. There are five separate hotel towers in Harrah's: Atrium, Bayview, Port, Marina, and Waterfront. In 2008, the most recent one, the Waterfront, was finished. However, the Bayview Tower was renovated in 2017 by Harrah's.
Resorts Atlantic City
Atlantic City Resorts is a property that has an absolute right to fame. In Atlantic City Casinos, it was the very first casino built. On May 26, 1978, Resorts opened its doors and became the first legitimate casino outside of Nevada in the United States. Up until Bally's opened the next year, it was the first casino outside Nevada. Resorts, however, have managed to chug along while other properties have sunk by the wayside. In 2004, it added a new hotel tower and almost increased the number of available rooms.
