Atlantic City Resorts is a property that has an absolute right to fame. In Atlantic City Casinos, it was the very first casino built. On May 26, 1978, Resorts opened its doors and became the first legitimate casino outside of Nevada in the United States. Up until Bally's opened the next year, it was the first casino outside Nevada.
